What is a Certified Graduate Remodeler?

July 14, 2010

A Certified Graduate Remodeler is a standout in the crowded marketplace of construction.  With this professional title, remodelers guarantee to operate with an emphasis on business management skills, upholding a reputation as an industry leader.  Using a CGR ensures that your project will be completed with the highest levels of quality and professionalism.  All remodelers are required to meet and maintain high standards of business practice and continue a reputation for successful project management.  All applicants to the program must be in the business of remodeling for five years before beginning the process for certification by the National Association of Home Builders, and Grosser and Company has been in business for over 34 years.

The first requirement for earning the CGR label is to take the PREP (Professional Remodelers Experience Profile) test. This assessment measures knowledge and experience in the five core areas of remodeling business management: marketing and sales, business administration, design estimating and job cost, project organization, and contract, liability, and risk management.  Upon completion of this examination, the remodeler must then take all necessary courses from a listing based on the PREP results.  Every three years with the certification, the remodeler must invest in twelve hours of continuing education in the building industry.

This special designation was created to help identify leaders who demonstrate expertise and professionalism in the remodeling industry.  We want to be your trusted remodeler!
